Deuteronomy 28:12-14 The Lord will open to me His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to my land in its season, and to bless all the work of my hand. I will lend to many nations, and not borrow. And the Lord will make me the head and not the tail. I will be above only, and not be beneath, if I heed the commandments of the Lord my God, and am careful to observe them. So I will not turn aside from any of the words which He commands me today, to go after other gods to serve them.

Romans 12:3 For by the grace (unmerited favor of God) given to me I warn everyone among you not to estimate and think of himself more highly than he ought [not to have an exaggerated opinion of his own importance], but to rate his ability with sober judgment, each according to the degree of faith apportioned by God to him.
